Notes from the Farm: Go outdoors and explore!

As many of you may remember I had rotator cuff surgery in March and had given up on many of our great Oregon hikes for a bit. Well, now I am back at it and just completed my favorite Oregon hike – Coffin Mountain. It showcases the Bear Grass like no other place. I encourage you to head out on this 2.5-mile out-and-back trail near Idanha, Oregon. This is a moderately challenging hike and it takes an average of 2 hours to complete. There are great viewing spots for enjoying a picnic. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and wild flowers, and you can still enjoy some solitude with 360-degree views. The best times to visit for Bear Grass viewing is early July. Enjoy our photos, and please share your hikes with us, we would love to hear from you!

Recently, I worked our local Silverton Farmers Market and was reminded why I love Silverton, because Silverton Loves US! I had a customer who shared that she could not live without our Tincture. Our Tincture is made with Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil grown in Silverton, OR on our Certified Organic Farm. Full spectrum means that is has everything the hemp plant can provide naturally.

*Cannabinoids: There are more than 100 cannabinoids, including CBD and THC which are responsible for the therapeutic and psychoactive effects of cannabis products. While CBD doesn’t cause impairment, THC has an intoxicating effect.

*Terpenes: Hemp has more than 150 terpenes, which affect the plant’s fragrance (think: what makes an orange smell citrusy). Terpenes can also have therapeutic benefits (think: how lavender has a calming effect).

* Flavonoids: Cannabis includes about 20 different Flavonoids which are found in all kinds of plants, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and more. Like terpenes, they have therapeutic effects. Studies shows that the flavonoids found in cannabis have anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and neuroprotective properties.

Our Tincture 600 MG CBD includes Organic FTC Oil and Lemon Essential Oil. This product is also great for pets. If your dog is suffering from pain, you can add a few drops and you will see a calming effect. It also is good for dogs that are hyper and anxiety ridden. As all of our products, we are third party tested for CBD and THC levels, pesticides and heavy metals.

The benefits of farming organically are endless. We often note that in the “olden days” all the food was produced organically. It was the norm of farming. Then as pesticides and herbicides became popular, so did oil based commercial fertilizer, and of lately GMO’s to our food system. This has allowed the organic industry to offer an alternative and became our way of life.
